These pages show a small selection of my past outdoor product design work including projects undertaken while employed by Fairydown and Kathmandu as well as some more recent contract work since setting up Andy Milne Design. I also have further examples of my work which are available on request.
Backpacks
I have designed many activity specific daypacks from light-weight hydration packs to alpine climbing and hiking packs, and also more everyday designs suitable for commuting and travel. I am also experienced in medium to large capacity pack design from travel packs, to hiking and mountaineering packs, including a wide range of different harness designs.
Sleeping bags
I have designed both down and synthetic sleeping bags from ultra-light backcountry bags to car camping bags incorporating many different and innovative design concepts along the way.
Tents
My previous tent designs include every possible use from mountain specific to sheltered car camping, every size from one person bivi bags to large scale family camping tents and a range of materials from single skin waterproof breathable fabrics to canvas.
